Review printed in STOCKS AND COMMODITIES Magazine: The course comes with a square of nine with clear overlay, and over 10 newspaper sized charts to illustrate the methods presented in the text. William McLaren, the author, has used Gann’s methods for over a decade, and the course offers his knowledge in a clear presentation. The subject is approached in a logical fashion, starting with The Psychology of Trading, which covers Gann’s three psychological nemeses for the trade (hope, fear, adn greed) and impresses the idea of trading from a plaln and using protective stops.

How Markets Move gives the reader an appreciation for the normal price movements in the market, and a number of simple technical methods to apply.

The Cycle of the Years presents Gann’s concept of time and the market, and discusses specifically the blow off cycles, and the longer-term cycles with their applications to price movement. The squares of 90, 52, and 144 are covered in this section.

Geometric Charts, Angles and Price Squares tells the reader why Gann used geometric or “square” charts, the basis of the angles, and the application of the price squares of high, low and range. A number of keys from specific angles are discussed, and numerous examples of squares are covered.

Trading a Decade presents Gann’s decade long trading plan, and applies it to a a decade of trading using long term charts of the Dow Jones Industrial Averages.

Applying the concepts brings the chart methods and time cycles together in examples of 15 different stocks and indices. Development of time and price turning points are illustrated on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis, showing the reader what to expect from price squares without time cycles and combinations of time cycles and price squares. Also discussed are specific methods of using the angles to place protective stops, find purchase or sale prices, and when to exit trades.

The Square of Nine discusses the use of the square of nine in price support and resistance, an time cycles. Specific trading applications are shown in a number of examples, and the simple set ups for trades are covered.

Gann Made Easy was designed as a supplement to W.D. Gann’s stock market and commodity market courses to simplify and clarify, but this new course stands alone as a foundation for trading using the Gann methods
